This page will introduce you to the International Society of the Descendants of Charlemagne. The Society is an Hereditary organization for persons who are linealy descended from the great Emperor of the West, Charlemagne. Membership in the Society is open to any person who can prove descent from the Emperor, in either the male or female line.

Our organization was established in 1984, for the purpose of :

  1. Gathering together the genealogical records of persons who are descended from the Emperor, and establishing a computer data base to enable others to share this knowledge.
  2. Providing a forum for social activity for our membership by sponsoring workshops, meetings, and other educational and beneficial activities.

Some of the benefits of membership are:

  1. The preservation of your genealogical data within our data base, which will be widely distributed, and thus providing safety from natural disasters.
  2. Our data files contain extensive materials on the Royal and Noble families of Europe, thus providing you with valuable genealogical data, with minimal time spent researching such linkages.
  3. We are able to introduce and recommend our members for admission into other related Genealogical and Lineage and Historical Societies.
  4. We will assist you in registering your valid Heraldic devices with the Society, and in obtaining such devices from the authentic and proper European heraldic authorities.
  5. We are also able to make introductions for our qualified members to petition for admission into certain Chivalrous and Knightly organizations.

We would very much like to include your data in our files, and have you as a member of our Society. The inclusion of your records will add greatly to our knowledge of the history of the "Charlemagne" family. We will accept your information in any form you may wish to supply, for example the standard Pedigree Charts, (in its various forms), Family Group Records for each generation, or by electronic media via the GEDCOM format. You may supply as much information as you may wish to release. The program we are using allows us to enter an unlimited number of individuals, in short there are NO limits on your file size. You may enter your entire lineage, with all collateral lines if you wish.

At the present time the Society admission fee is $50.00, made payable to the Society.
